Apart from football, the Hohe Warte regularly hosted diverse cultural events and competitions in other sports during the 1920s. As such, First Vienna executives managed to organise operas, boxing fights and night-runs at the stadium. In the summer of 1924, a remarkable spectacle took place on the sporting ground, as Giuseppe Verdi’s opera “Aida” was performed with 1,000 participants in front of 12,000 visitors.
