Loud engines & powerful sounds
In addition to football matches, the Hohe Warte has always been a place for events away from the round leather. In the early 1970s, there were loud engine noises and the smell of petrol at national and international speedway meetings on the Hohe Warte, a motorcycle racing sport that is driven on closed oval tracks. It got loud and powerful in the natural arena a little later with pop concerts by icons such as Bob Dylan, Rod Stewart, Jethro Tull, INXS and the local hero, Ostbahn Kurti.
