Invitation to the Book Presentation “Blue and Yellow Under the Swastika”
Historian Dr. Alexander Juraske presents his latest book, Blue and Yellow Under the Swastika, the first comprehensive study on the history of the First Vienna Football Club 1894 during the Nazi era.
After more than five years of intensive research, Alexander Juraske will unveil his findings in the VIP area of the Naturarena Hohe Warte.
His book sheds light on the profound changes in Viennese football following Austria’s annexation by Nazi Germany. It explores how First Vienna FC achieved remarkable sporting success during the Nazi era despite the persecution and exclusion of many Jewish members. At the same time, the study examines the fate of the persecuted club members and the lack of efforts to address this chapter after 1945.
