Kai Stratznig Commits to Vienna Until 2027
First Vienna FC 1894 and Kai Stratznig have agreed on a contract extension, keeping the central midfielder at the club until 2027. Since joining the Blue-Yellows in early 2023, Stratznig has been a key player in the squad, and his new deal secures his place in the team for two more seasons.
Following his last contract renewal in 2024, the 22-year-old Carinthian has once again pledged his future to Vienna. This season, he has featured in 19 out of 20 league matches, establishing himself as a vital cog in the team’s midfield. During the international break, the decision was made to continue shaping his future at Hohe Warte.
Since joining Vienna, Stratznig has already made 46 appearances in the second division as well as one cup match. His football journey began at SC Mühldorf before moving to the Wolfsberger AC academy at the age of 14. There, he progressed through all youth levels and eventually broke into the Bundesliga.
He made his top-flight debut in June 2020 against TSV Hartberg. In total, he featured in 44 Bundesliga matches for WAC and gained international experience in seven Europa League games.
Sporting Director Andreas Ivanschitz on the Contract Extension:
“Kai has developed very well with us and has proven how valuable he can be for our team. His mentality and commitment are exemplary, and he possesses exactly the qualities we need at Vienna. We are delighted to have extended his contract and that Kai wants to continue on this path with us.”
Kai Stratznig on His Decision:
“The past few months have shown me that I am in the right place here. I feel very comfortable within the team and the entire club. My discussions with the sporting management have reinforced my decision to continue my journey here. I am grateful for the trust placed in me and look forward to tackling the challenges ahead together with Vienna.”
