Vienna Guest at Rapid II

In the 22nd round of the ADMIRAL 2. Liga, First Vienna FC has a Vienna derby ahead: on Friday evening, the Blue-Yellows will face the second team of SK Rapid at the Weststadion. Kick-off is at 18:00 – live at the stadium or via stream on Laola1.

Back with a Win after the International Break

After the international break, Vienna made a strong return with a narrow but deserved 1-0 home victory against SV Horn. Especially in the first half, coach Mehmet Sütcü's team impressed with their performance, laying the foundation for the three points with an engaged effort. Although the game slowed down after the break, the successful start to the league season is what matters most.

Coach Sütcü was satisfied after the home win: “It was important to get three points immediately after the international break. We managed to do that, and now we want to build on it. But we also know we need to improve against Rapid II.”

A slight setback was the injury to top scorer Kelvin Boateng in the game against the Niederösterreicher. The striker sustained an ankle injury and will be missing in the upcoming games.

Sporting director Andreas Ivanschitz on the absence: “Kelvin’s injury is, of course, a blow. We will have to wait and see how long he will actually be out, but it now offers an opportunity for other players to step up. We wish Kelvin all the best for his recovery and will support him as much as we can on his way back.”

Rapid II: Young, Fast, and Unpleasant

Rapid II will be a tricky opponent on Friday despite their fluctuating results. The Hütteldorfer currently sit in seventh place, seven points behind Vienna. So far in the spring, they’ve achieved one win, one draw, and three losses – a mixed spring record that should not overshadow the potential of the young Rapid players.

Vienna also has a mixed spring record: two wins, one draw, and two losses, placing them in fourth, level on points with SW Bregenz but with a slight gap to the top two teams.

Coach Sütcü urges caution: “Rapid II is a talented team – strong runners, technically skilled, and difficult to play against. Especially at home, they are always dangerous. We need a focused and passionate performance to take something from this match.”

In the first encounter at the Hohe Warte, Vienna won 3-1 – a result they would love to repeat on the Döbling side.

Tickets & Away Section

For all traveling Vienna fans, the away section in the Weststadion will be open. Tickets are available directly at the stadium. The team appreciates all the support!
