Jürgen Bauer remains blue and yellow until 2027
First Vienna FC 1894 continues to build on stability in defense: Jürgen Bauer has extended his contract, which was set to expire this summer, by two more years – keeping him at Austria’s oldest football club until 2027.
The 26-year-old joined Vienna in the summer of 2023 and quickly became a regular starter. Initially deployed as a right-back, Bauer has impressed this season in a central defensive role as well. A special moment came when he netted his first goal in Vienna colors – scoring the match-winner against Voitsberg.
Bauer brings with him a wealth of experience from the ADMIRAL 2nd League, having made 175 appearances in Austria’s second tier – 49 of those in the blue and yellow of Döbling. He made his professional debut in the 2nd League back in 2018 for SC Wiener Neustadt – against FC Liefering, aged just 20.
Bauer began his footballing journey at SV Bad Erlach. After time in the youth setups of Wiener Neustadt and the Admira academy, he returned to SC Wiener Neustadt. Following the club’s forced relegation, he moved to SV Horn in 2019, where he became a key figure over four seasons – racking up 108 second-division matches and eight appearances in the UNIQA ÖFB Cup. He then made the switch to Vienna in 2023.
