Vienna Sign Alina Kerschbaumer
The current season is still in full swing, but First Vienna FC is already looking ahead. The club has confirmed its first signing for the upcoming campaign: promising young talent **Alina Kerschbaumer** will join Austria’s oldest football club from the ÖFB Women’s Academy.
From the Academy to Döbling
Kerschbaumer has been part of the ÖFB Women’s Academy since 2022, where she developed into a key player over the past few years. Her move to Vienna marks a natural next step in her career — the transition into senior football. She’s following a path already taken by players such as Nicole Ojukwu and Lara Höcherl, who also made the switch from the academy to Döbling and quickly established themselves in the women’s first team.
Head Coach Mark Dobrounig on the new addition: “Alina brings tremendous pace down the flanks and has a strong eye for goal. She’ll add fresh momentum to our attacking game and can elevate our overall quality. Of course, we’ll give her the time she needs to adapt to our tempo and style of play. I’m confident that she’ll find the perfect environment here to continue developing her game.”
Impressive Performances on the International Stage
Alina Kerschbaumer is also a key figure in Austria’s U17 national team under head coach Patrick Haidbauer. She played a vital role in securing qualification for the upcoming U17 European Championship, contributing one goal and one assist during the campaign. Kerschbaumer has been a regular fixture in the national setup for the past two years.
Welcome to the Vienna family, Alina!
