Vienna Amateure Host Austria XIII at Home
After a two-week break from action, Vienna Amateure return to the pitch this Saturday for Matchday 23 of the Wiener Stadtliga, taking on fifth-placed FV Austria XIII.
With the league paused over the Easter weekend, the upcoming fixture marks a real test of strength for Vienna’s youngsters. Following a narrow 2–1 defeat in the reverse fixture, the league leaders are out for revenge and keen to defend—or ideally extend—their lead at the top of the table.
Near-Perfect Second Half of the Season
Vienna’s form in 2025 has been close to flawless. The team has won six out of seven matches in the second half of the season, boasting a goal difference of 19:7. Their only defeat came at the hands of SV Donau. With the title race heating up, Vienna remain on course for the championship, though their lead over second place stands at just two points.
Austria XIII Eyeing a Top-Three Finish
Long-time Stadtliga side Austria XIII (competing in the fourth tier since 2011) come into this one having scored eight goals across their last two away games. They've maintained a single-digit table position throughout the season. Coached by Michael Keller—who once played for Vienna—the team trails the league leaders by ten points, making a title run unlikely. However, a top-three finish is well within reach, as they sit just two points off third place.
Vienna head coach Gökce Tuna had this to say about the upcoming opposition from Penzing: "They were highly motivated in the first leg, and I don’t expect anything different this time. They’re technically decent, but also a battling side. As always, we’ll aim to put in a strong performance and hopefully come out on top."
