Vienna Secures Another Top Talent with Denise Lueger
First Vienna FC continues to stay true to its philosophy of developing young, ambitious players. The latest promising addition to the blue and yellow squad is Denise Lueger, a 16-year-old prolific forward joining from the ÖFB Women’s Academy.
Following the signing of Alina Kerschbaumer, Vienna now presents its next new arrival for the upcoming season. Lueger consistently impressed with strong performances at the academy and has also made a name for herself with the Austrian U17 national team. Over the past year, she has become a key figure in the team’s attack and played a vital role in the European Championship qualifiers, scoring five goals and significantly contributing to the team’s success.
For Lueger, the move into senior football is a logical next step – and Vienna offers the perfect platform to take it, competing at the highest level. Her dynamism, technical ability, and relentless goal-scoring instinct are expected to strengthen the attacking line of Austria’s oldest football club.
Head coach Mark Dobrounig is pleased with the new addition: “Denise is one of the most promising talents in Austrian women’s football. She not only brings technical skill, but also a strong instinct for goal. We’re excited that she has chosen to take her first steps in senior football with us, and that she’s eager to continue developing her strengths as part of the team.”
