Vienna Women Face Tough Challenge Away in St. Pölten
This Sunday, May 4, the First Vienna FC Women’s Team will face SKN St. Pölten once again. The match is scheduled to kick off at 14:00 in St. Pölten. After last week's defeat, Vienna is looking to bounce back and reward their effort with a positive result.
Defeat at Hohe Warte
The previous match ended in a clear 4-0 loss for Vienna. However, the scoreline doesn’t reflect the performance on the pitch. For large portions of the game, Vienna held their own, showing determination and matching the league leaders. In the final third, though, the team struggled to find solutions, while St. Pölten capitalized on mistakes and punished them ruthlessly. Now, Mark Dobrounig’s team has the chance to exact revenge for the home defeat this Sunday.
Third Place Still Within Reach
The Vienna women are currently in a challenging phase in the ongoing championship group. In the second part of the final round, the focus is on regaining stability and bringing their strengths back onto the field. Third place – and qualification for international competitions – remains within reach. On the final matchday, Vienna will face Sturm Graz at Hohe Warte, with just two points separating them from third place.
