Vienna travels to Austria Lustenau
In Round 28 of the ADMIRAL 2nd League, First Vienna FC 1894 faces an away match against Austria Lustenau. The game will be played on Friday evening at the Bodensee Stadium in Bregenz, with kickoff at 18:00. The match will be shown live in the conference broadcast on ORF Sport+ and will also be available via livestream on Laola1.
Following a 0–2 home defeat against Kapfenberger SV in the previous round, Vienna dropped to fourth place in the table, now trailing the Styrian side by one point. The defeat also ended the club’s last mathematical chance of winning the league title, after failing to secure points in the previous game against Sturm II. The Blue and Yellows are now highly motivated to bounce back on their trip to Vorarlberg.
Looking ahead: Aiming for a top finish
Despite missing out on promotion, Vienna can look back on a largely positive season. With 47 points, the team is already five points better off than at the same stage last year. To surpass last season’s final total of 51 points, four more points are needed from the final three matches – the first of which they hope to earn against Lustenau.
The focus is now on finishing the season as strongly as possible while gaining valuable insights for the upcoming campaign.
Austria Lustenau fighting for survival
In their first season after relegation from the Bundesliga, Austria Lustenau remains locked in a relegation battle. Although coach Markus Mader’s side recently picked up seven points from three games, the pressure is far from easing. After SV Stripfing’s 2–1 win in their rescheduled fixture against FC Liefering, Lustenau’s lead over the drop zone has shrunk to just five points.
With three rounds left, safety is anything but certain. Lustenau will be fully focused on taking points against Vienna to avoid going into the final round under pressure. The home side is expected to show great determination and fight, making them a difficult opponent.
Reminder of the reverse fixture: a clear win at Hohe Warte
Vienna won the first meeting convincingly with a 3–0 victory at Hohe Warte. It was a focused and largely dominant performance by the Blue and Yellows. However, the return leg promises a more intense battle. Lustenau is in form, highly motivated, and difficult to beat at home.
Support on site and live coverage
Vienna can once again count on support away from home. The away section at the Bodensee Stadium will be open for fans of Austria’s oldest football club. Those unable to attend in person can follow the game live on ORF Sport+ or stream it on Laola1.
After two consecutive defeats, Vienna is looking to get back on track and finish the season near the top of the table. Against a strong and determined Lustenau side, it will require focus and passion. With three games remaining, there is still everything to play for in terms of setting a new season-best.
