Final Match of the Season: Vienna travels to league champions SV Ried
Vienna will play their final match of the ADMIRAL 2nd League season this Sunday, traveling to Upper Austria to face league champions SV Ried at 17:00. The match will be broadcast live as part of the conference on ORF Sport+ and streamed individually on LAOLA1.at.
Big stage for the season finale
Two fan buses will be making the journey from Vienna-Döbling to the Innviertel, where loyal supporters will back the team one last time this season. A packed crowd is expected at the Innviertel Arena as SV Ried celebrates their return to the Austrian Bundesliga with fans after the match.
Vienna confirmed in 5th, Ried with dominant promotion
The table is already settled. SV Ried, with 64 points from 29 matches, has secured first place and will return to the Bundesliga after two years.
Vienna sits in 5th place with 48 points, four behind SKN St. Pölten and comfortably ahead of 6th-placed FC Liefering. This means the Döbling side will finish the season in fifth place, regardless of the result on Sunday.
For Ried, there is no sporting pressure, but the motivation to cap off their promotion campaign with a home win remains strong. For Vienna, it’s a chance to end a difficult stretch on a high note and head into the summer break with a positive result.
Form and head-to-head record
Ried enters the match in excellent form, with nine home wins from 14 games and five victories from their last six matches. Vienna, on the other hand, has struggled to find form in the final weeks.
Last weekend’s 1-3 home defeat to SKU Amstetten extended Vienna’s winless streak to five matches. Their last victory came in a 2-0 away win against ASK Voitsberg. Head-to-head history also favours Ried: they’ve won three of the last four encounters, including a 1-0 victory in the first leg this season in Vienna.
Injury concerns for Vienna
Vienna head coach Mehmet Sütcü will be without several key players for the season finale, including Kelvin Boateng, Christoph Monschein, and Markus Rusek. As a result, several young talents from the amateur squad are expected to get playing time in the second division. Despite the setbacks, Sütcü’s team is determined to put in a strong performance and finish the season on a positive note.
The match will be shown live as part of the conference broadcast on ORF Sport+ and streamed individually via LAOLA1.at.
IMPORTANT: SV Ried will not open a ticket office at the away section on match day. Tickets were only available in advance or on the fan buses.
