Ines Sarac Strengthens the Vienna Women's Squad
The Vienna Women’s team is pleased to announce another new addition at the Hohe Warte: Ines Sarac joins from league rivals USV Neulengbach, becoming the team’s eighth signing ahead of the upcoming season.
The 21-year-old native of Styria spent the past five years playing for Neulengbach, having made the move there in 2020. Her time at the club was marked by both achievements and adversity: Sarac suffered three ACL injuries, each time battling her way back onto the pitch and showing remarkable resilience. In the most recent season, she made 21 appearances in the ADMIRAL Women’s Bundesliga.
Sarac has progressed through various Austrian national youth teams, earning a total of 26 caps and scoring six goals for the U16, U17, and U19 sides. She made her debut for the U17 national team at the age of just 14 in a match against Hungary.
Her footballing journey began at SV Rottenmann. From there, she moved through the ranks of LAZ Stainach and continued her development at the ÖFB Youth Academy in St. Pölten. With SV Rottenmann, she also celebrated winning the title in the Styrian Women’s Oberliga Nord.
Head Coach Mark Dobrounig had high praise for the new signing: “With Ines, we’re bringing in a strong personality and a player who, despite her young age, has already been through a lot. She’s come back from serious injuries multiple times and has shown incredible mental strength. I’ve had the chance to follow her journey for a while and I know the talent and professionalism she brings to the table. Ines is technically gifted, poses a goal threat, and will also enrich our team with her character. We’re delighted that she’s chosen Vienna and wants to build something with us.”
Ines Sarac is excited for her next chapter: “I’m really looking forward to this new challenge with Vienna, a club with great tradition and history. I want to contribute to the team’s success, and I believe that if we play as a unit, we can have a strong season in the Bundesliga.”
