GRG1 Stubenbastei becomes official partner school of First Vienna FC 1894
When school meets professional football: “Stubenbastei and Vienna now playing a well-timed one-two!”
First Vienna FC 1894 is proud to welcome GRG1 Stubenbastei as its new official partner school. This partnership between Austria’s oldest football club and the renowned academic institution promises many exciting moments. Through this cooperation, students and teachers alike will enjoy exclusive benefits – not only in the classroom, but also on the pitch.
Shared experiences and joint activities take centre stage
At the heart of the partnership are shared events and initiatives designed to bring students closer to the world of football, while also highlighting the importance of teamwork, discipline and fair play. Planned highlights include free match tickets for GRG1 Stubenbastei students and teaching staff, giving the school community easier access to First Vienna FC 1894 home games and a chance to experience top-level football up close.
There will also be special PE lessons, where students will have the chance to train alongside First Vienna FC 1894 players – including the likes of Christoph Monschein, Claudia Wasser or Marco Djuricin – and develop their football skills in an exciting and supportive environment. It's a unique opportunity to experience professional football first-hand – from theory to practice. And one thing is certain: fun won’t be left out!
Andreas Ivanschitz, Sporting Director at Vienna, is excited about the partnership: “With Stubenbastei, we now have a great school by our side. During our visit, we were warmly welcomed, and already feel right at home in this partnership. Here’s to a successful collaboration and many shared victories in the future!”
MMag. Horst Eichinger, Principal of GRG1 Stubenbastei, shares his enthusiasm: “Our partnership with First Vienna FC 1894 is an exciting opportunity for our students. We strongly believe in a holistic education, in which physical fitness and team spirit play key roles. Vienna offers our students new perspectives and shows that success – in sport and in life – is built on discipline, teamwork, and passion.”
Mag. Peter Rehling, PE teacher at GRG1 Stubenbastei, sees the collaboration as a perfect fit: “By teaming up with First Vienna FC 1894, we’re combining education and sport in the best possible way. We gain valuable insights into club football and benefit from real-life experiences on and off the pitch. We’re also glad to offer Vienna new perspectives in return – that’s what true partnership looks like.”
Constantin Orel, Marketing, First Vienna FC: “School and football – a better match than you’d think. With GRG1 Stubenbastei, we’re bringing both together and proving: learning works just as well with a good one-two!”
