Vienna signs Anna van der Reijden
The Vienna women’s team is delighted to announce its latest new signing for the upcoming season: Anna van der Reijden. The Dutch defender will strengthen the Blue and Yellows’ back line with immediate effect.
Anna van der Reijden becomes the newest addition to the Vienna squad. The 21-year-old previously played for VV Alkmaar in her home country before gaining valuable international experience Campbell University and at the University of Charleston in the USA over the past few years. With her move to Vienna, van der Reijden is now taking on the challenge of proving herself in Austria’s top flight.
Van der Reijden’s primary position is in defence, where she stands out for her excellent reading of the game and strong tackling ability. She is also known for her aerial prowess, making her a constant threat at set pieces.
Head coach Mark Dobrounig is full of praise:
Anna showed great interest right from the start in being part of our journey. She brings a wealth of experience and will be an asset to us both on and off the pitch. We were looking for exactly this type of player, and we’re all the more delighted that she’s joining Vienna to work with us towards our goals.”
Anna van der Reijden is equally excited about her new challenge:
The staff and players made me feel at home from the very first conversation, so I’m really proud to be part of Vienna now. I can’t wait to step onto the pitch with the team and work hard towards our goals. I’m excited to grow together on and off the field and I’m looking forward to a great season ahead”
