Cedomir Bumbic transfers to NK Maribor
First Vienna FC 1894 bids farewell to Cedomir Bumbic, who is transferring with immediate effect to NK Maribor in the Slovenian First League.
Cedomir joined Vienna in the summer of 2020 and developed over the next five years into a key part of the Blue and Yellows. With over 120 competitive appearances in the jersey of Austria’s oldest football club, he played a decisive role in shaping a highly successful sporting era.
His unforgettable free-kick wonder goal against SKN St. Pölten and his contribution to the promotions in 2021 and 2022 stand out in particular: first winning the title in the Wiener Stadtliga, then becoming champions of the Regionalliga Ost – with Bumbic as a key player on the pitch each time.
Since the promotion to the ADMIRAL 2nd League, he has featured in 84 league matches for Vienna and impressed as a versatile wide player thanks to his commitment and adaptability.
Sporting Director Andreas Ivanschitz on the transfer:
"After intensive and open discussions, it became clear that Cedo felt the desire to take on a new sporting challenge. We respect this decision and didn’t want to stand in his way. Thanks to our squad planning, we were able to make this opportunity possible for him. On behalf of the entire club, I want to thank Cedo for his outstanding commitment, his loyalty, and his contribution to the positive development of Vienna in recent years. We wish him all the best for the next step in his career in Maribor – both on and off the pitch."
Thank you, Cedo!
Vienna thanks Cedomir Bumbic for his dedication and the many unforgettable moments in the Vienna jersey. With his commitment, he has left a lasting mark – both as a player and as a person.
We wish him great success, good health, and many more amazing experiences on and off the field at Slovenian top club NK Maribor.
Thank you, Cedo – you’ll always be part of the Vienna family!
