On Friday, August 22, 2025, Austria’s oldest football club celebrates its 131st anniversary. To mark this special occasion, there’s also a highlight for our fans: Vienna presents the Alfred Tatar Shirt – a tribute to one of its cult coaches. Alfred “Fredl” Tatar – a true Vienna legend.
From 2010 to 2013, the cult coach guided the Blue and Yellows to safety in the ADMIRAL 2nd League season after season. But Alfred Tatar shaped the club not only as a player and coach, but also with his legendary quotes that have long since achieved cult status.
Unforgettable is the interview in which he humorously described Vienna’s style of play as the “antithesis to Barcelona” and as a “modern version of route-one football.” Meant ironically, but remembered forever – this T-shirt captures exactly that spirit of a unique era and brings it to life for all Vienna fans.

On Thursday, August 21, 2025, starting at 6:00 p.m., Vienna celebrates the opening of its newly redesigned Fanshop at Hohe Warte – one day before the anniversary and the home match against FC Liefering. In a relaxed atmosphere, there will be toasts, chats, and the first presentation of the new collection – including, of course, the Alfred Tatar Cult Shirt.
Special promotions await: 18.94% off all NIKE products (except jerseys) as well as a raffle in support of the Empty Stands project. The modernized Fanshop on the first floor and the online shop (www.1894.at/shop) are also now shining in new splendor.
