WE ARE VIENNA – Joy, Team Spirit, Inclusion – a Week Full of Vienna Moments
This week at the First Vienna Football Campus was all about inclusion, team spirit, and love for the game. Our Special Needs Team, founded in 2018, took part in an intensive training week together with the U9 and U10 squads – full of special moments and encounters.
Training, Matches & Encounters
The focus was on getting to know each other. The week began with diverse sessions in which our Special Needs Team trained together with the U9 and U10 youth players. In addition to exercises, joint matches in mixed teams were also on the program – a complete success for everyone involved.
The men’s and women’s first teams also came by on two occasions. The meet-and-greet with the pros was an unforgettable experience for many and showed what football makes possible: joy, togetherness, and mutual respect.
Pure Emotions – the “Derby of Love”
Another highlight was the “Derby of Love” in the youth section against Sport-Club. On Thursday, the U9/U10 returned the favor by loudly supporting our Special Needs Team in their match – a moment full of emotions and true team spirit.
Experiencing History – Visit to the Vienna Museum
Friday brought a special highlight: a visit to the Vienna Museum with club historian Alexander Juraske. Together, the players discovered the First Vienna History Club and got an exclusive look inside the first team’s dressing room.
Such an inclusive camp had never taken place at Vienna before – a true piece of living Vienna Family.
The Special Needs Team – a Model Project
Since its founding in 2018, our blue-and-yellow Special Needs Team has been an important point of contact for people with intellectual and physical disabilities. Under the leadership of coach Gerhard Entrich and his dedicated support staff, Vienna offers a professional and welcoming environment where everyone can enjoy their favorite sport without exclusion.
The team has already celebrated numerous successes at international tournaments – including multiple victories at the prestigious UNIQA Panther Cup.
Diversity & Inclusion – Living Values at Vienna
Vienna stands for diversity and inclusion. Our Special Needs Team is a beacon project in Austria, proving that football is for everyone – and especially at Vienna!
