Vienna Women face SK Sturm Graz
This coming Friday promises a special football evening at Hohe Warte: right after the men’s league match, the Blue-and-Yellow women will play the third round of the ADMIRAL Women’s Bundesliga against SK Sturm Graz at 8:30 p.m. Following their spectacular 8–3 victory over FC Südburgenland, the team is eager to impress again against the “Blackies.”
It doesn’t get more Blue-and-Yellow in one evening: at 6:00 p.m. our men’s first team hosts Austria Lustenau, before the Vienna Women take on Sturm Graz at 8:30 p.m. A night no fan should miss. Tickets available here: TICKETS
Sturm Graz visiting
Like Vienna, the team from Graz has secured one win so far this season. Coach Tode Djakovic’s side opened with a convincing 4–1 victory over LASK. Last weekend, however, they fell 1–2 to St. Pölten despite taking the lead.
Vienna in scoring mood
In the previous round, Vienna enjoyed a furious 8–3 away win at FC Südburgenland. Seven different players (Kerschbaumer, Osl, Sarac twice, Pfanner, Schneiderbauer, Fankhauser, and Höcherl) found the net. With that victory, Vienna climbed to fifth place in the table.
Head coach Mark Dobrounig is looking forward to the double matchday:
“We’re really excited about this football evening at Hohe Warte. After the win against Südburgenland we want to carry the momentum and play boldly against Sturm Graz. We expect an intense match against a title contender. With the support of our fans behind us, we want to show once again what we’re capable of.”
Looking back: tight duel in spring
The last meeting at Hohe Warte is still fresh in the memory: in the 2023/24 season finale, Vienna narrowly beat Sturm 1–0.
