Vienna NWZ U18 celebrates big win
Our U18 NWZ team celebrated an impressive victory last weekend. In the 4th round of the ÖFB Youth Regional League, the team won away against NWZ Stripfing/Wr. Neustadt with a resounding 7–0. The Döbling side remains unbeaten at the top of the table. The U16 NWZ team’s match was canceled.

Right from the start, the Vienna U18s took control of the match, as head coach Stefan Wichmann explained:
“From the first second it was clear that we wanted to dominate this game. We were focused, willing to run, and immediately showed the necessary presence in duels. That gave us the confidence to impose our style of play. The boys were secure on the ball, agile, robust, and purposeful – exactly as we had planned.”
The scoring was opened in the 18th minute by Mehmet Kilic. Before halftime, Poyraz Özmeral (32’) and David Kainer (36’) also found the net. The sharpness in attack gives plenty of encouragement for the coming rounds.
“Compared to last week, when we lacked consistency in the final third, this time we played with much greater clarity. We had the absolute will to take our chances, and the result speaks for itself. The goals were the result of smart, deep runs, well-timed positional rotations, and attacking variety. We repeatedly created goals through good football,” said a delighted Wichmann about his team’s offensive display.
With a confident 3–0 lead at halftime, Vienna played with freedom in the second half. Prosl made it 4–0 in the 58th minute, Yücel scored the fifth in the 67th, before Özmeral netted his second in the 73rd. Just a minute later, Prosl also struck again to round off a memorable performance at 7–0.
Vienna’s U18 NWZ team once again demonstrated its quality with this win. Next week, they face TWL Elektra, who are also unbeaten but sit second in the table with a game in hand.
This victory shows the confidence within this squad – both individually and collectively.
