On the Hunt for Points in the Vienna Woods
In the 6th round of the ADMIRAL Women’s Bundesliga, the Vienna women’s team travels to the Vienna Woods to face USV Neulengbach. Kick-off is on Saturday, September 20, at 4:00 p.m.
Neulengbach Going Through a Difficult Phase
USV Neulengbach has not managed to pick up any points in their last three league matches. They suffered a narrow 0–1 defeat against Altach, followed by a 0–3 loss to LASK. In the last round, Andreas Ogris’ team was beaten 0–2 by St. Pölten. The Lower Austrians currently sit in eighth place in the table with four points.
Head coach Mark Dobrounig on the upcoming opponent:
"We know that Neulengbach has a lot of potential in their ranks, which they can bring out at any time. It will be important that we control that in our own way."
Patricia Pfanner Put Vienna Ahead – Win Against Salzburg Brings Confidence
Vienna celebrated their first home win of the season in the last round. After a tough opening schedule, the Blue and Yellows defeated Red Bull Salzburg 2–0. Patricia Pfanner gave Vienna the early lead, and Hannah Fankhauser doubled the advantage with a beautiful long-range strike. It was Vienna’s second victory of the current season, moving the Döbling side up to sixth place in the table.
"On Saturday against Neulengbach, we want to show a good performance. We want to combine our playing idea with clarity and the right energy. Then we are convinced that we can shape the game successfully in our favor," says Mark Dobrounig ahead of the match.
