Vienna Earns a Point Against Altach
In the 8th round of the ADMIRAL Women’s Bundesliga, Vienna faced SCR Altach. In a hard-fought encounter, the Blue and Yellows came from behind twice to secure a 2–2 draw.
Strong start from Vienna
Vienna began the away match brightly, putting the home side under early pressure. However, the first big chance fell to Altach: Meister broke through on goal, but Piplits made a strong save to prevent an early deficit.
Altach takes the lead
Vienna continued to control possession, but the better chances belonged to the team from Vorarlberg. In the 20th minute, Osl managed to block a shot, but just four minutes later, SCR Altach struck first. Pulins intercepted a pass from Osl, beat Piplits, and made it 1–0.
Gebert levels the score
Vienna quickly recovered from the setback and almost equalized through Kerschbaumer, whose shot hit the side netting. Altach remained dangerous on the counter, but Piplits continued to impress in goal. In the 35th minute, Vienna finally got the reward for their efforts. Gebert unleashed a stunning strike from distance that flew perfectly into the top corner for 1–1.
Wasser misses from the penalty spot
Just before halftime, Vienna had the golden opportunity to take the lead. After a handball in the box, the referee pointed to the spot. Claudia Wasser stepped up but sent her shot over the bar, leaving it 1–1 at the break.
Fast start from Altach
The hosts came out strong after the interval. In the 51st minute, Piplits again had to react quickly, producing another great save to keep her side level. But in the 56th minute, she was left with no chance. Once more, Pulins won the ball and went through on goal, calmly slotting home for her second of the day and a 2–1 lead.
Following the second setback, Vienna seemed to lose control of the match and created few chances of their own. Altach continued to threaten on the counter, though Piplits made several key interventions to keep Vienna in the game.
Vienna fights back again
After a shaky start to the second half, Vienna battled their way back and were rewarded with another equalizer. Pfanner fired from a tight angle into the far corner to make it 2–2 in the 74th minute.
Late pressure goes unrewarded
In the closing minutes, Vienna pushed hard for the winning goal. Pfanner had another chance shortly after her equalizer but lost the ball inside the penalty area. Vienna continued to apply pressure around the Altach box, but the decisive goal never came. In stoppage time, Pfanner was sent off after receiving her second yellow card, leaving Vienna a player short. No further goals were scored, and the match ended 2–2.
