Vienna Achieves Record Revenue

First Vienna FC once again reports an extremely positive annual result for the 2024/25 financial year: Austria’s oldest football club has increased its revenue and closed the fiscal year with a profit. With this result, Vienna has achieved record revenue and posted a profit for the third consecutive year since returning to professional football.

The club’s revenue rose to €6.4 million, representing an increase of 16 percent compared to the previous year. Since 2017, Vienna has boosted its revenue by an impressive 220 percent – from €2 million then to the current record figure in the 2024/25 season.

Remarkably, since narrowly avoiding collapse in 2017, the club has reported a profit every single year – a testament to consistent consolidation, sustainable growth, and sound financial management. Despite continued economic challenges, Vienna once again achieved a profit of €79,000 this year. With an equity ratio of 19.02 percent, the club underlines its solid financial foundation. “This development shows that we’ve succeeded in making the club fit for the future while keeping a close eye on the finances. We’re very proud of that,” says Vienna President Kurt Svoboda. “With around 60 employees, Vienna has developed into a thriving business enterprise. We’ve managed to strengthen the club even in challenging times and proven that sustainable management is possible in the second division. Our financial stability is the foundation for the club’s sporting and structural future.”

Economic Strength Through Sustainable Growth

Vienna benefits from the ongoing professionalization of its structures, the positive development in sponsorship, and rising matchday and hospitality revenues.“A big thank-you goes to our many sponsors, fans, and supporters who believe in us every day. Our strategy to diversify Vienna’s revenue base while preserving its family spirit has truly paid off,” emphasizes Svoboda. “This positive result shows that, through the excellent cooperation across all areas, we’ve once again created real added value for fans, sponsors, and partners.”

Strong Partners, Growing Reach

Vienna continues to rely on its key partners: main sponsor UNIQA and co-main sponsor IMMOunited, complemented by long-standing premium partners Wien Holding and Flyeralarm. In recent years, new partnerships – such as with Miksch Gartengestaltung, ImmoScout24, and, since this year, Niedax – have further expanded the club’s sponsorship network. This sustainable cultivation and expansion of partnerships have made a significant contribution to Vienna’s positive economic performance. “Our sponsors are more than supporters – they’re genuine partners who share our values and believe in growing together,” says Svoboda. “Their trust and loyalty are a key success factor for Vienna.”

A Solid Foundation for the Future

Despite broader economic uncertainties, First Vienna FC 1894 demonstrates that sustainable financial success in Austrian football is possible. With a clear focus on stability, transparency, and long-term development, the club is well-positioned for the years ahead.

“We’re proud of what we’ve achieved in recent years,” concludes Svoboda. “But we also know – this is just the beginning. With prudence, passion, and foresight, we will continue to strengthen Vienna both economically and athletically.”
