Vienna and Sporting Director Andreas Ivanschitz end cooperation

First Vienna FC 1894 and Sporting Director Andreas Ivanschitz have mutually agreed to end their cooperation ahead of schedule. Chief Scout Stefan Manzana Marin will also be released from his duties.

This decision follows a comprehensive analysis of the current season in the ADMIRAL 2nd League, where Vienna currently sits in ninth place. After an in-depth evaluation of the team’s sporting development, the club concluded that the intended goals and desired progress — despite significant investments in the squad and its environment, as well as intensive work at all levels — have not been achieved to the expected extent.

The club therefore considers it necessary to provide new impetus and to realign its sporting direction at this stage.

First Vienna FC 1894 thanks Andreas Ivanschitz and Stefan Manzana Marin for their commitment and dedication to the club and wishes them all the best for their future, both professionally and personally.

The club will announce details regarding the future structure of its sporting management in due course.

Kurt Svoboda, Vienna President: “The course of this autumn season and an honest analysis — which also included addressing internal mistakes — led us to the decision to end our cooperation with Andreas Ivanschitz. This decision was not an easy one for us. Since joining Vienna, Andi, together with his team, has provided many valuable and lasting impulses and has always shown great dedication and passion for the club. Unfortunately, it did not lead to the success we had hoped for in the end. On behalf of the entire First Vienna FC, I would like to thank Andi and Chief Scout Stefan Manzana Marin for their work, their commitment, and their identification with Vienna over the past years. Such steps are, unfortunately, part of sport — even if they are painful. Now we look to the future. Above all, our goal remains to establish Vienna successfully in the long term, and that includes making difficult decisions like this one.”
