Vienna Women Challenge Red Bull Salzburg Away
The Vienna women’s team will travel to Salzburg for their final away match of the year. In Round 14 of the ADMIRAL Women’s Bundesliga, our team will face Red Bull Salzburg. The match will take place next Saturday, 6 December at 13:00 at the Liefering Academy.
One final match remains on the 2025 schedule for our women’s team before they head into a well-deserved winter break. After a difficult autumn, the Blue and Yellow want to deliver a strong performance once more and pick up points in Salzburg.
Salzburg suffered a heavy 1–6 defeat against SKN St. Pölten on the last matchday. Before that, they narrowly secured a 1–0 victory over Wacker Innsbruck in the cup.
In the league table, Red Bull Salzburg sit in fifth place with 20 points. Vienna have collected 12 points and currently hold seventh place.
In the previous round, Vienna hosted city rivals Austria Wien at Hohe Warte in the Vienna derby. In front of the home crowd, our team fought hard and earned a 0–0 draw against the league leaders. With this result, they also handed Austria their first dropped points of the current season.
The Blue and Yellow also have positive memories from their first encounter with Red Bull Salzburg this autumn. Vienna celebrated a confident 2–0 home victory, with Pfanner and Fankhauser scoring the goals.
“It’s the last match before the winter break, and we want to finish the autumn with a positive result. Against Austria, we showed what we are capable of when we stick together as a team. We want to bring that same energy into the match against Salzburg and take all three points back to Döbling,” says head coach Mark Dobrounig.
