A Legend Steps Down: Pia Piplits Ends Her Career
With the beginning of the new year, Vienna must bid farewell to a true blue-and-yellow icon. Pia Piplits has played for Vienna since childhood and made a major contribution to the club’s successes in recent years. Now it is time for Pia to turn her attention to new challenges. The entire Vienna family wishes Pia every success, good health, and all the best for her future path.
Blue and Yellow – A Lifetime
Pia is a true child of Vienna. She played for the traditional Viennese club from the age of six and progressed through all the youth teams wearing the blue-and-yellow jersey. Eventually, Pia also celebrated her debut in senior football for Vienna. In 2021, she was part of the team that achieved promotion to the top division. In the 2023/24 season, Pia contributed with strong saves to winning the runners-up championship, and in the following season she made her debut in the premier class for Vienna.
In total, Pia played over 120 competitive matches for Vienna. On and off the pitch, she shaped a very successful era of blue-and-yellow women’s football and, through her tireless commitment and loyalty to the club, earned a place in the hearts and memories of every Vienna fan.
