Florian Prohart joins Vienna
First Vienna FC 1894 strengthen their squad during the winter break with the signing of Florian Prohart. The 27-year-old midfielder moves from league rivals SV Kapfenberg to Hohe Warte and has signed a contract with the blue and yellow side until summer 2027.
With Prohart, Vienna present their third new signing of the current winter transfer window, once again successfully reinforcing the squad in a targeted manner. As the former captain of the “Falcons,” Prohart brings not only technical quality but also stands out for his strength in duels and high work rate.
Head coach Hans Kleer on the new signing:
“Florian is a technically skilled, hard-running midfielder who can be used both offensively and defensively. With his mentality and leadership qualities, he will be a real asset to our team.”
Prohart began his football education at FC Welzenegg before joining the SK Rapid youth academy at U15 level. At U18 level, he returned to Carinthia and moved to the youth setup of Wolfsberger AC. After appearances for the Lavanttal club’s second team and one Bundesliga appearance, he transferred to SV Lafnitz in 2018.
At SV Lafnitz, Prohart made 120 appearances in Austria’s second division and developed into a key figure for the club. In the summer of 2024, the Carinthian moved to SV Kapfenberg, where he was immediately appointed captain. To date, Prohart has made 36 competitive appearances for the “Falcons.” In the current season, he has played 11 matches in Liga Zwa, scoring three goals and providing one assist.
Florian Prohart on his move to Döbling:
“The move to Vienna feels exactly right. The talks with the club were very positive, and I immediately felt the family atmosphere here. I’m looking forward to taking on responsibility and achieving success together.”
