Vienna Amateurs Kick Off the Spring Season

After a well-earned winter break and an intensive preparation period, our Vienna Amateurs are set to begin the second half of the season. In their opening match, our team will face SK Slovan HAC away from home. The game will take place next Friday, February 27 at 7:00 PM.

There were several squad changes during the winter break. Aris Stogiannidis (FavAC), Karl Höflich (SR Donaufeld), Michael Valtchev (FavAC), Wenzel Lindmoser (SC Weiz), and Yessine Ben Nejma (USC Rohrbach) left Vienna during the winter. In return, seven players from the NWZ U18 team were promoted to the Vienna Amateurs: Henrik Soos, Cristiano Rajic, David Prosl, Hüseyin Yücel, Elvin Rovcanin, Dusan Urosevic, and Colin Fischer.

The Vienna Amateurs can look back with satisfaction on the past autumn campaign. Featuring many young players, our team delivered several strong performances throughout the season and finished the first half in fourth place.

The season has not gone as smoothly for our upcoming opponents as it has for Vienna. With ten points, they currently sit in 13th place. Vienna won the previous meeting in autumn convincingly, securing a 3–1 victory.

Head coach Gökce Tuna on the upcoming restart of the season: “Playing away at Slovan is never easy. The pitch is often slippery, and they have experienced veterans in their squad. We’re hoping for football-friendly weather conditions. If the boys don’t put unnecessary pressure on themselves just because it’s a competitive match, I’m confident we can take all three points.”
