Networking and Quiz Night – 1894 Business Club Under the Giebelkreuz
The 27th evening of the popular networking club of First Vienna FC 1894 took place on February 24, 2026, hosted by long-time business partner Raiffeisen Stadtbank Wien. Nearly 120 entrepreneurs attended the event, enjoying not only networking opportunities and culinary highlights but also the chance to test their knowledge in a quiz while competing against each other. This was a premiere for the 1894 Business Club—and it proved to be a success.
Tradition Meets Tradition
When Austria’s oldest football club organizes an event at the Raiffeisen headquarters on the Danube Canal as part of this partnership, football passion clearly meets decades of banking tradition. The first 1894 Business Club evening of this calendar year seamlessly continued the success of 2025. On the 20th floor of the Raiffeisen building, not only the impressive view over the rooftops of Vienna stood out—the dynamic and well-designed program also impressed the guests.
An Overview of Sports and Finance
As usual, the evening was hosted by moderator and Vienna stadium announcer Erwin Gruber. After opening remarks, he handed the microphone to club president Kurt Svoboda, who summarized the developments of the past months and provided insights into various areas of the club. He highlighted what makes the spirit around the traditional club so special and thanked the many supporters and partners.
Host Martin Rapf, Head of SME Banking at Raiffeisen Stadtbank, briefly outlined the similarities between banking and football before introducing the next program item: the first quiz in the history of the 1894 Business Club.
“Banking Knowledge” as an Advantage
Guests formed teams of five and gathered around their tables. Together they answered questions related to “banking know-how.” The lively quiz delighted participants, and the competition remained exciting until the final question. As is customary at Vienna networking evenings, attractive prizes were awarded, adding extra motivation for the teams.
Time to Connect
Afterwards, the official part of the evening concluded and the buffet was opened. There was plenty of time for conversation and networking, which the guests eagerly took advantage of while enjoying excellent food.
First Vienna FC 1894 would like to thank the nearly 120 entrepreneurs who attended and especially the evening’s host, Raiffeisen Stadtbank Wien, for a successful event among the Vienna family and its friends.
