Narrow Defeat Against Hellas Kagran

In the 17th round of the Wiener Stadtliga, the amateur team of First Vienna FC 1894 hosted Hellas Kagran. In a hard-fought match, the visitors proved very efficient in front of goal. The game ended in a 2–3 defeat for Vienna.

Early Lead for the Visitors

Hellas Kagran created their first chance in the 6th minute. After a free kick, Revelant got to the ball, rounded Vienna goalkeeper Troindl from close range, and gave the visitors the lead.

Vienna Responds Quickly

The blue-and-yellows were not discouraged by the early setback. In the 7th minute, Ellen tried his luck from distance, but his shot was saved. Just a few minutes later, Ellen struck again—this time finishing a cross from Jerabek to score the equalizer.

Vienna Better, Hellas More Efficient

After leveling the score, Vienna controlled the game and pushed their opponents deeper into their own half. However, most attacking moves were stopped before becoming dangerous. Completely against the run of play, the visitors took the lead again in the 27th minute. Following another set-piece situation, Bauregger slid the ball over the line. This time Vienna could not find an immediate response, and the teams went into halftime with the hosts trailing 1–2.

Vienna Close to the Equalizer

In the second half, the visitors focused primarily on defensive work, while Vienna struggled to turn their superiority in possession into clear chances. A good opportunity came in the 63rd minute when Jerabek’s effort was cleared off the line. Ten minutes later, Jerabek again came close, but his header from a cross hit only the side netting.

Counterattack Seals the Defeat

In the 81st minute, the visitors found space on the counterattack. Taner Sen got onto the ball, beat Troindl in a one-on-one situation, and made it 3–1. Vienna managed to pull one back in the 89th minute through Soos, but there was no time left to find an equalizer. The Vienna amateurs ultimately lost the match 2–3.
