Together for a Life Free of Violence: Vienna Supports the Autonomous Women’s Shelters
First Vienna FC 1894, together with its umbrella fan organization, the Vienna Supporters, is sending a strong message of social responsibility. As part of the “Fanblock-Bande” project, a special advertising space will be visible starting at the upcoming home match on Friday against Kapfenberg at the Hohe Warte natural stadium: the advertising board in front of the fan section will be made available free of charge to the Autonomous Women’s Shelters of Austria (AÖF), offering them a prominent platform within the Vienna environment.
With this initiative, Austria’s oldest football club and its loyal fans underline their clear commitment to solidarity and social responsibility. The AÖF is the umbrella organization of 16 autonomous women’s shelters in Austria and has been actively involved for many years in networking these institutions as well as in awareness-raising and prevention work against domestic violence toward women and children. Its aim is to give a voice to those affected and provide low-threshold access to professional help. Support services such as the Women’s Helpline Against Violence (0800 222 555) and the free, anonymous online help chat at www.haltdergewalt.at make an important contribution in this regard.
In addition, the AÖF sets important impulses for awareness and support through initiatives such as the “Live FREE of Violence” campaign and the annual “Wish List” donation drive. Current projects like the EU program MARVOW 2.0, which focuses on protecting older women from violence, as well as the CHILD project, which promotes child-friendly justice for young victims of violence, demonstrate the organization’s broad and lasting impact.
With the Fanblock-Bande, First Vienna FC 1894 and the Vienna Supporters aim not only to raise awareness of this important work, but also to send a clear message against violence and discrimination in all its forms. At the same time, fans and the wider public are invited to actively support a life free of violence.
Anyone wishing to support the work of the AÖF can find information on donation options, current projects, and the women’s shelters on the website www.aoef.at.
On match day, donation boxes will also be set up at the Hohe Warte natural stadium, allowing visitors to support the AÖF directly on site.
