Vienna Academy celebrates two deserved victories in Wels
A successful outing for Vienna in Wels: the U16 side won an intense encounter 4–2, while the U18 team secured a convincing 4–1 victory against SPG Wels.
NWZ SPG Wels U16 vs. NWZ First Vienna FC 1894 U16 2–4 (1–2)
First Vienna FC 1894 won an entertaining NWZ clash away at SPG Wels by 4–2. Wels made the stronger start and took the lead through Leonard Musa in the 4th minute, but Vienna turned the match around before half-time thanks to goals from Kerem Sunay (17’) and Matteo Josipovic from the penalty spot (22’).
After the break, Denis Ramakic equalized for Wels in the 51st minute to make it 2–2. However, Vienna decided the game in the closing stages: Sunay scored his second goal in the 74th minute before substitute Eliah Shamonov sealed the 4–2 victory just one minute later.

Vienna took control of the game from the outset and consistently found solutions against the hosts’ compact defensive setup. By overloading spaces effectively and switching play quickly with diagonal balls, the visitors repeatedly created dangerous situations in the final third.
Benjamin Jasarevic opened the scoring in the 8th minute after excellent build-up play from Hüseyin. Vienna continued to dominate proceedings and increased the lead through another goal from Jasarevic in the 37th minute, before Volkan Sahan added a third shortly before half-time to make it 3–0.
After the restart, Wels improved and put Vienna under pressure for periods of the game. More mistakes crept into Vienna’s passing play, but the team remained clinical in front of goal and defended their lead confidently.
