Vienna and Hans Kleer part ways at the end of the season

First Vienna FC 1894 and head coach Hans Kleer will not continue their collaboration beyond the end of the current season. With the expiration of his contract, the blue-and-yellow club legend’s second spell at Hohe Warte comes to an end. Assistant coach Drazen Grujicic will also leave the club, as his contract will not be renewed.

Hans Kleer took over Vienna last autumn during a challenging sporting period and dedicated himself fully to the club with great passion, experience, and personal commitment. Under his leadership, the team stabilized during the spring campaign and took important steps toward calmer waters. Across 24 competitive matches, Vienna recorded ten wins, five draws, and nine defeats under Kleer, averaging 1.46 points per game. The club finishes the ADMIRAL 2. Liga season in seventh place.

Looking ahead to next season, the club is now focusing on a sporting reset. The goal remains to sustainably re-establish Vienna among the top teams in the ADMIRAL 2. Liga.

Sporting director Didi Elsneg explained: “Hans is a true blue-and-yellow club legend who returned during a difficult phase to take responsibility. For that, he deserves great respect and our sincere gratitude. Even though we were not able to achieve all of our shared goals in every area, his experience and commitment provided important impulses and played a major role in stabilizing the team during the spring. This development gives us something to build on.”

First Vienna FC 1894 would like to sincerely thank Hans Kleer and Drazen Grujicic for their dedication, loyalty, and connection to the club. The club wishes both of them nothing but the best for their personal and professional futures and looks forward to welcoming them back to Hohe Warte in the future.
