Away Match Against WAF
The Vienna Amateurs travel to face WAF Brigittenau in Round 28 of the Vienna City League. After a difficult run of results, the Blue-Yellows will be looking to return to winning ways in this local derby. Kick-off is scheduled for Saturday, 6 June, at 2:00 p.m. at the WAF Gruabn.
With only two rounds remaining before the summer break, the Vienna Amateurs currently sit sixth in the Vienna City League standings with 42 points. Their upcoming opponents, WAF, are currently in 11th place.
Heartbreaking Defeat Last Time Out
The Vienna Amateurs suffered a narrow 3–4 defeat against the FAC Amateure in a dramatic and high-scoring encounter last weekend. After falling behind 0–2 early on, the Blue-Yellows mounted an impressive comeback and turned the match around to lead 3–2.
With victory seemingly within reach, the FAC Amateurs equalised in the 90th minute before scoring the decisive goal deep into stoppage time to snatch all three points.
WAF’s recent form has been mixed. Their most recent outing ended in a 0–3 defeat to Red Star Penzing. Prior to that, they secured a 2–0 home victory over Hellas Kagran. Earlier results included a loss to Austria XIII and a win against the FAC Amateurs.
The first meeting between the two sides this season was a comfortable affair for the Vienna Amateurs. The Blue-Yellows recorded a convincing 4–0 victory and will be hoping to repeat that success in the return fixture.
