Vienna Establishes Technical Directorate and Strengthens Sporting Structures
First Vienna FC 1894 is taking another important step toward further professionalization by expanding its sporting organization with the creation of a new Technical Directorate. With Nermin Jusic appointed as Technical Director and Numa Desrues as Sports Coordinator, the club is purposefully strengthening the links between its youth, women’s, amateur, and professional sectors while broadening the strategic foundation of its sporting development.
Nermin Jusic, who has served as Vienna’s Head of Youth Development since the summer of 2025, will assume the role of Technical Director. In this position, he will oversee the sporting, organizational, and operational management of the entire youth department, including the academy and amateur team. At the same time, he will support Sporting Director Dieter Elsneg in planning the professional squad and serve as a key liaison between the youth and first-team structures.
A particular focus will be placed on ensuring continuity throughout the player development pathway, from the academy and reserve team all the way to the professional squad. In addition, the Technical Directorate will be responsible for defining the sporting philosophy within the youth and transition phases, supervising scouting processes, and supporting squad planning and transfer-related matters.
New Position: Sports Coordinator
The newly created role of Sports Coordinator will be filled by Numa Desrues. Having initially joined Vienna as an intern in 2023, Desrues has served in an administrative sporting role since 2024 and is now taking the next step in his development within the club.
In his new position, he will oversee organizational and administrative matters within the sporting department and act as an important link between the first team and the club’s executive management. The newly established role forms part of the club’s expanded sporting structure and is intended to further professionalize internal processes and strengthen cooperation between the various departments of the club.
Together with Sporting Director Dieter Elsneg, the new Technical Directorate will become a central pillar of Vienna’s sporting organization.
