Vienna Sign Raul Marte from SW Bregenz
Vienna have completed the signing of Raul Marte, who joins the club from fellow ADMIRAL 2. Liga side SW Bregenz. The 24-year-old is a versatile defender who arrives at the Hohe Warte with more than 100 appearances in Austria's second division to his name.
Marte took his first steps in football at SK Brederis before joining the Vorarlberg Academy in 2016. Ahead of the 2020/21 season, the Rankweil native moved to Austria Lustenau, where he made his professional debut and his first appearances in the ADMIRAL 2. Liga.
After two seasons in Lustenau, Marte joined FC Dornbirn on loan, where he enjoyed his breakthrough. During the 2022/23 campaign, he made 28 league appearances, scored once and provided three assists. He remained a key player the following season, adding another 22 league appearances.
In the summer of 2023, Marte signed for SW Bregenz and immediately established himself as a regular starter. Over the past two seasons, the defender missed very few matches and consistently impressed with his performances. Despite his young age, Marte has already accumulated more than 100 competitive appearances in the ADMIRAL 2. Liga. With his experience, defensive versatility and high work rate, he is set to strengthen Vienna's squad.
