In-gyom Jung Joins First Vienna FC 1894
First Vienna FC 1894 has strengthened its attacking options by signing In-gyom Jung. The 22-year-old South Korean joins head coach Patrick Enengl's squad with immediate effect. Most recently, the attacking midfielder played for FC Schalke 04 II in the Regionalliga West.
Jung began his football career in his native South Korea with Bucheon United. In 2017, the attacking midfielder moved to Germany. After a spell at Düsseldorfer SC 99, the right-footed player joined Fortuna Düsseldorf, where he progressed through the club's youth academy up to the U17 team.
He then made the move to Bayer 04 Leverkusen, where he made 17 appearances for the club's U19 side in the A-Junior Bundesliga, gaining valuable experience at the highest level of youth football. In August 2023, Jung joined Borussia Mönchengladbach's U23 team. During his time in the Regionalliga West, he featured in 47 matches, scoring seven goals and providing four assists. Most recently, Jung played for FC Schalke 04 II, where he recorded six goals and four assists last season.
With his technical ability and versatility, Jung is expected to further strengthen Vienna's attacking department.
Sporting Director Didi Elsneg on the new signing:
"With In-gyom, we are signing a technically gifted attacking player who is capable of playing in several positions. He will bring intensity, directness, and a high level of dynamism to our game. His versatility will give us even more options in attack."
In-gyom Jung on his move:
