Vienna Amateurs Begin New Season with New Coaching Staff and a Younger Squad
The Vienna Amateurs are entering a new chapter ahead of the 2026/27 season. Amir Bradaric has been appointed as the team's new head coach, while Daniel Luxbacher returns to Hohe Warte as assistant coach. Together, the new coaching staff will focus on preparing the club's many young talents for senior football.
Bradaric most recently managed USC Rohrbach/Gölsen in the Lower Austrian Landesliga. Previous coaching positions have included spells at Atzenbrugg, Gablitz, Grafenwörth, Spratzern, and Ebreichsdorf. With extensive experience in youth and amateur football, he is expected to play a key role in the continued development of Vienna's young players.
"I am delighted to take on this new challenge at Vienna. Our goal is to help our young players improve every day, prepare them for senior football, and build a team that plays with passion, courage, and intensity. I am convinced there is a great deal of potential in this squad, and I am looking forward to working with the players," said new head coach Amir Bradaric.
Daniel Luxbacher also returns to Hohe Warte, this time in a coaching role. As a player, he wore the Blue and Yellow jersey from 2021 to 2025 and was part of the squad that secured the club's return to professional football. He now begins a new chapter on the sidelines.
Technical Director Nermin Jusic also emphasized the club's clear sporting philosophy:
"We are deliberately building around young players and a new coaching staff. Our objective is to prepare our talents for senior football as quickly as possible. That is why we have significantly rejuvenated the squad. The majority of our team consists of players born in 2008 and 2009, complemented by three players born in 2007."
Pre-Season Underway
The Vienna Amateurs have already begun preparations for the new campaign. Following medical examinations and performance testing on 20 July, the team completed its first on-pitch training session on 21 July.
In line with the club's new sporting direction, the squad has been significantly rejuvenated. A number of promising players from the club's U18 academy team have been promoted to the Amateurs and will gain their first experience in senior football this season.
Autumn Home Matches to Be Played in Hirschstetten
To ensure the Vienna Amateurs can continue playing on natural grass as often as possible, all home matches during the autumn will be played at the Vienna Football Association (WFV) ground in Hirschstetten.
There will be two exceptions. The home fixtures against Post SV on Saturday, 12 September, and Union Mauer on Saturday, 26 September, will both be played at Hohe Warte as double-header matchdays together with the Vienna women's team.
On both occasions, the women's team will kick off at 4:00 p.m., facing SKN St. Pölten and, two weeks later, LASK respectively. The Vienna Amateurs will then conclude the matchday with kick-off at 6:30 p.m.
