Vienna Travel to Südstadt

Vienna’s next away trip of the season takes the Blue and Yellows to Südstadt. On Matchday 4 of the ADMIRAL 2. Liga, Vienna will face Admira. The top match of the round kicks off at 8:30 p.m. on Friday at DATENPOL Arena.

Vienna Earn Last-Minute Point

Vienna secured a last-minute point on the previous matchday. Against Liefering, the Blue and Yellows initially found themselves 2–0 down. In stoppage time, Benjamin Rosenberger pulled one back with a directly converted free kick. Right at the very end, Youssouf Soukouna finished off a Vienna attack to secure a valuable point.

Head coach Patrick Enengl on the game: “I’m pleased for the team that they were able to reward themselves with a point in the end, and we even had a chance to score the winner. We didn’t give up until the very last second and did everything we could to get something from the game. We will definitely take that mentality and determination with us, and it makes me extremely positive about what lies ahead. At the same time, the game also showed that we cannot afford phases in which we let up. In this league, every percentage less is punished immediately.”

Admira Secure First Win After Difficult Start

Admira’s start to the season has been a difficult one so far. After being knocked out of the first round of the UNIQA ÖFB Cup by regional league side Leithaprodersdorf, they suffered two defeats in the league. Last weekend, however, Admira finally got off the mark with a 2–0 win over Sturm Graz II.

Head coach Patrick Enengl on the upcoming opponent: “Admira have also gone through a period of change over the summer. The games between these two teams always have a special intensity. For us, it will be crucial to bring our core qualities onto the pitch, play as a unit and perform at full intensity for the entire 90 minutes. If we can do that, I’m convinced we can take something from Südstadt.”

On Friday, the Blue and Yellows will be looking to secure their next win of the season with a strong performance. The last meeting between the two sides in the spring ended in a 0–0 draw. Admira had won the three encounters before that. Vienna will be looking to end that run on Friday evening.
