Behind the Scenes: Honey Harvest at the Hohe Warte
Since 2022, the Hohe Warte has been not only the home of Austria’s oldest football club, but also home to around 500,000 hardworking bees. Surrounded by nature, they collect nectar and pollen and produce high-quality, locally sourced honey year after year.
This year, we had the opportunity to take a special behind-the-scenes look at the honey harvest and experience first-hand how the work of countless bees results in our Naturarena organic honey. We captured some fascinating impressions of the harvest and everything that goes into producing it.
This unique project is made possible through a partnership with Wiener Bezirksimkereien, which was established several years ago. The bees benefit from the natural surroundings of the Hohe Warte while also helping to promote biodiversity in the heart of the city.
The partnership is another example of the Hohe Warte’s and Austria’s oldest football club’s commitment to sustainability. Football and nature have long gone hand in hand here: through a range of initiatives, we are committed to making our home as close to nature as possible and contributing to a healthy and liveable environment.
