Amateurs Celebrate 5-2 Away Win in Schwechat

In Round 5 of the Wiener Stadtliga, the Blue and Yellows travelled to face SV Schwechat. After trailing 1-0 at half-time, Amir Bradaric's side produced a strong response in the second half and secured their next victory with a 5-2 win.

Behind at the Break

A hard-fought encounter developed from the outset at Schwechat Stadion. Both teams looked to move forward quickly after winning possession, but clear-cut chances were initially few and far between.

Shortly before half-time, the hosts finally broke the deadlock. Marco Elbl put SV Schwechat 1-0 ahead in the 39th minute. The Vienna Amateurs went into the dressing room trailing by a single goal.

Dream Start to the Second Half

The Blue and Yellows came out of the break with plenty of energy and needed just two minutes to respond. Cristiano Rajic equalised in the 47th minute to make it 1-1.

Amir Bradaric's side continued to apply pressure and completed the turnaround within a matter of minutes. Just four minutes after the equaliser, Felix Nagele scored to give Vienna the lead for the first time.

Schwechat, however, were not ready to give up. Marco Elbl found the net for the second time in the 57th minute, restoring parity at 2-2.

Krpuljevic Provides an Immediate Response

Vienna responded immediately. Just two minutes after the equaliser, Kerim Krpuljevic put the Blue and Yellows back in front. The high-scoring start to the second half continued.

In the 65th minute, Bradaric made a triple substitution. Poyraz Özmeral, Layth Khidach and Nicholas Nösslinger came on for Marlon Louis Winter, Taha Uysal and Kerim Krpuljevic.

Roschütz Puts Vienna in Control

Vienna continued to make an impact after the substitutions and were rewarded with another goal in the 69th minute. Matteo Roschütz made it 4-2, giving the visitors a more comfortable cushion heading into the closing stages.

The hosts tried once again to reduce the deficit, but the Blue and Yellows remained focused and protected their lead. Amir Bradaric also introduced two more fresh players, Mihailo Milic and Simon Ellen.

Özmeral Adds the Finishing Touch

Poyraz Özmeral had the final say. The substitute forward scored in the fourth minute of stoppage time to make it 5-2.

After trailing at half-time, the Vienna Amateurs produced a strong response and scored five goals in the second half. The Blue and Yellows deservedly returned from Schwechat with all three points.

Head coach Amir Bradaric: “The first half was evenly balanced, with very few chances on either side. Unfortunately, we fell 1-0 behind due to a lapse in concentration. At half-time, however, we found the right words and came out with significantly more energy in the second half. During a very strong spell, we scored three goals within around 15 minutes, laying the foundation for our victory. Overall, it was a good, united team performance. Of course, there are still things we need to work on. What matters most, however, is that the team showed a strong response after falling behind and deserved the win with a convincing second-half performance.”
