Away Defeat Against Altach

In Round 7 of the ADMIRAL Frauen Bundesliga, Vienna travelled to face SCR Altach. In an entertaining first half with chances at both ends, the home side took the lead shortly before the break and extended their advantage in the second half. Vienna ultimately lost the match 4-0.

Denny Krcmarek had to make several changes ahead of the match against Altach. Amelie Kandlhofer replaced the injured Grabenhofer in goal for the Döbling side. Höcherl, Wondrejc and Wasser also came into the starting XI, replacing Mädl, Kurkutovic and Milanovic.

Chances at Both Ends

Vienna started aggressively from the first minute and put the hosts under pressure early on. In the 7th minute, Lilah Havel broke down the right and played a low cross back into the area. Ines Sarac got on the end of it, but her shot went narrowly over the bar.

Kandlhofer was called into action for the first time in the 21st minute. Ebersold attempted to send a long-range free kick directly towards goal, but the Vienna goalkeeper produced an excellent save to keep the visitors level.

The Blue and Yellows threatened again in the 25th minute. Lara Höcherl struck from distance, but Altach goalkeeper Busse tipped the powerful effort over the bar.

Altach Take the Lead Before Half-Time

The home side gradually grew into the game and began creating increasingly dangerous chances. In the 35th minute, Lüscher headed just over the bar.

Shortly before half-time, SCR Altach finally broke the deadlock. Following a well-worked combination, Mikulica got on the ball and fired a powerful shot into the net to put the hosts ahead.

In stoppage time, Mikulica had another opportunity to extend Altach's lead, but Kandlhofer reacted quickly to prevent the striker from completing her brace. Vienna went into the break trailing by a single goal.

Vienna made one change at half-time, with Milanovic replacing Wasser.

Altach Double Their Lead

SCR Altach made a strong start to the second half. In the 54th minute, Mikulica got past Brunmair and slotted the ball past Kandlhofer to make it 2-0.

Vienna were not discouraged by the setback, but struggled to find their way into dangerous positions in front of the Altach goal. In the 60th minute, Sarac set up Havel, but Busse saved her effort from a tight angle.

Denny Krcmarek made a double substitution in the 64th minute, bringing on Sergeeva and Batarilo. Höcherl and Sarac made way.

Vienna managed to regain more control of the game, but clear-cut chances remained hard to come by. Fankhauser replaced Maja Keckeis for the closing stages, while Mayer came on for Cavic in the 84th minute.

Altach Seal the Win

SCR Altach continued to withstand Vienna's pressure and were rewarded with a third goal in the 88th minute. Ebersold found the top corner directly from a free kick, leaving Kandlhofer with no chance.

In stoppage time, Mikulica completed her hat-trick to make it 4-0. Vienna ultimately suffered a 4-0 away defeat.
