Additional Structural Support Allows Continued Use of the Main Stand
Over the past few days, clearly visible structural supports have been installed beneath the Main Stand at Hohe Warte. This is a temporary additional safety measure implemented following a comprehensive technical assessment, in cooperation with the relevant experts and in coordination with the authorities.
Match Operations Can Continue Without Restrictions
The most important point first: Thanks to the additional supports, the Main Stand can continue to be used in full and at its existing spectator capacity. There are currently no restrictions on matches or events at Hohe Warte.
The structure provides the structural stability required for the continued use of the existing stand. At the same time, we want to communicate openly that this is a temporary measure, not a permanent structural solution. The supports are neither the beginning of a redevelopment project nor of a comprehensive renovation.
We understand that the additional structure significantly changes the appearance beneath the stand and may raise questions. However, the safety of our visitors, employees and everyone else at Hohe Warte is our top priority. This is why the measure has been implemented responsibly and decisively.
A Long-Term Perspective for Hohe Warte
Hohe Warte is far more than a sports venue. It is the home of Vienna, our women's, men's and youth teams, as well as countless fans, families and sports enthusiasts. As a traditional sporting venue in Vienna, it combines a unique history with great significance for the future of our club and for Vienna as a city of sport.
The safety measure now in place allows regular operations to continue and secures the immediate use of the Main Stand. At the same time, it makes clear that a viable long-term structural solution is needed for the Main Stand and the future development of Hohe Warte. The current supports cannot replace such a permanent solution.
This long-term perspective can only be developed through a joint effort involving Vienna, the City of Vienna, the relevant authorities and other partners. We are engaged in constructive discussions and greatly appreciate the cooperation to date.
Our shared goal must be to further develop Hohe Warte as a safe, modern and vibrant venue for men's and women's football, youth development, events and community activities. In the long term, this requires the appropriate financial and structural framework, as well as a shared commitment to this unique sporting venue in Vienna.
The supports secure the present – together, we must shape the future of Hohe Warte.
