Sustainability at Vienna
As the oldest football club in Austria, Vienna is aware of its responsibility in many social respects. They want to be a pioneer and role model in the Austrian football scene, especially in terms of sustainability. The importance of this topic was recognized early on and so
The club's first sustainability report was published in the early 2010s - as the first football club in the country.
Vienna would like to continue to take responsibility in the future and sees a lot of potential in a large number of different actions that are intended to strengthen and confirm the sustainability of the association once again. There are many exciting projects waiting for Vienna and its numerous supporters!
Our projects:
The First Vienna FC Forest - 1894 Trees for the Environment
Be part of an important project: Actively contribute to the first First Vienna FC Forest in Hainburg to plant. It is important for us to have a to establish a diverse, vital and stable forest that can withstand global warming. We have therefore decided on tree species that have the highest probability of withstanding the climatic conditions at this location, especially in the Hainburg region.
An amount of € 29.95 net is charged per tree.
A professional gardener, Gartengestaltung Miksch, will create and maintain this mixed forest.
The goal is to plant a total of 1894 trees - a symbolic number that corresponds to the year the football club was founded.
The complete handling of the project will be carried out by Gartengestaltung Miksch, for which we would like to thank our partner. After completing the order, you will receive an invoice from our partner Gartengestaltung Miksch. As soon as payment has been received by our partner, the planting of the ordered trees will take place during the next planting round and you as the buyer will receive an own certificate with the respective tree numbers was transmitted by First Vienna FC 1894.

UMWELTBOX - Collecting in the spirit of sustainability
In the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 seasons, the Denner Group accompanied us on our journey, especially with its UMWELTBOX brand. The aim of this partnership was to implement many joint sustainable projects that should serve as an example of a responsible, successful path throughout Austria.
The UMWELTBOX is a brand of the Denner Group. The company focuses on collecting empty printer cartridges & toner as well as old mobile phones. The printer empties are reprocessed and thus return to the free market. Cartridges that can no longer be refilled are broken down into their components aluminum, iron and plastics in the company's own shredder plant and thus returned to the recycling cycle. Smartphones are refurbished whenever possible and old mobile phones are also shredded to save the raw materials.
An interactive project in which the entire blue and yellow
Vienna family. In the spirit of sustainability, empty printer cartridges and toner were collected in the common boxes of the Hohe Warte Nature Arena instead of being thrown away. Every contribution to this wonderful project paid off. Recycling old products is a simple yet effective way to do something good for the environment and we at Vienna are fully behind this project.
The entire proceeds from the printer cartridges, toners and old mobile phones collected at the Hohe Warte benefited our blue and yellow offspring.
Vienna Organic Honey
Bees are known to make an important contribution to great biodiversity. Together with the Vienna District Beekeeping, we also house a total of 5 bee colonies with over 250,000 bees on the Hohe Warte. With this cooperation, we want to set an example for biodiversity and sustainability. Habitats for bees are becoming increasingly scarce and this could have serious consequences in the long term. In its uniqueness, the Hohe Warte Nature Arena offers perfect conditions for bee colonies.
In cooperation with the Viennese district beekeeping, certified organic honey is produced on the Hohe Warte, which requires certain husbandry and manners of the bees. But also includes an inspection of the entire company, the Viennese district beekeeping. Due to its location, the Hohe Warte Nature Arena makes it possible for pollen sources to be present in the immediate vicinity, which are maintained according to organic criteria. In addition, the bees are cared for in a bee-friendly way by the district beekeeping and only beehives produced from natural materials are used.
